i genuinely do not understand how people do not know how to use computers on the most basic level. Ive worked with guys in factories who do not use a computer at their job, and do not use one at home either- they get a pass because they dont actually use computers ever.
the people i dont understand are the one who's entire job revolves around using a computer. secretaries, accountants, cad engineers- these people use a computer for 8 hours a day at work. i fix the most basic of thing they could have resolved themselves and they ask me for advice about how to fix their computer at home. they have a computer at home so they are probably spending even more than 8 hours a day looking at a computer.
yet if i install a new program and forget to create a desktop shortcut they think the program is not installed at all they dont know how to find it in the start menu. they dont even know how to search in the start menu. they often do now even know what a start menu is.
